BMC ne Friday ko bataya ki Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project ke under Dindoshi Court aur Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari ke beech flyover ka construction kaam ab final stage mein hai. Civic body ka kehna hai ki flyover ko 31 May tak traffic ke liye open karne ka target rakha gaya hai.
Officials ne bataya ki flyover ka kaam kaafi fast pace par progress kar raha hai.
According to civic officials, 75 per cent of the work has been completed, and 30 out of the proposed 31 pillars have already been constructed.
Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijit Bangar ne Thursday ko site inspection ki aur officials ko bacha hua kaam fast track par complete karne ke directions diye. Unhone project team ko additional manpower aur machinery deploy karne ko kaha, taaki monsoon se pehle flyover traffic ke liye open kiya ja sake.
BMC ne flyover ko 31 May 2026 tak public use ke liye open karne ka target set kiya hai.
Structural work schedule ke hisaab se progress par
Officials ke according, bridge spans, dono taraf solid approach roads, deck slab casting aur baaki structural aur civil works planned timeline ke mutabik chal rahe hain.
Total 30 bridge spans mein se 17 spans ka kaam complete ho chuka hai, jabki baaki 13 spans par kaam ongoing hai aur unhe jaldi complete karne ka target rakha gaya hai.
Goregaon-Mulund Link Road project ka hissa
Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project ko 4 phases mein develop kiya ja raha hai. Dindoshi Court aur Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari ke beech ka flyover is project ke Phase 3(A) ka hissa hai, jismein elevated rotary bhi shaamil hai.
Yeh flyover do sections mein banaya ja raha hai — Goregaon side aur Mulund side. Flyover Dindoshi Court ke paas se start hota hai, Ratnagiri Junction Hotel ke paas 90-degree turn leta hai aur Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari ke paas descend hota hai.
East–West traffic ke liye badi relief
Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, Mumbai ka fourth major east–west corridor hoga, jo eastern aur western suburbs ko connect karega. 12.20-kilometre ka yeh project khaaskar North Mumbai mein traffic congestion ko kaafi had tak kam karega.
Project complete hone ke baad, Goregaon aur Mulund ke beech travel time lagbhag 75 minutes se kam hokar 25 minutes ho jaane ki ummeed hai. Isse fuel saving hogi aur Mumbai ka Air Quality Index (AQI) bhi improve hoga.
